If I can keep the ball in play with my partner with Forehand and Backhand, do I already go to level 2 and work on better technique? Or do I have to be able to do the same with the other strokes first?
Of course, you can then go to the next level. But in principle, we recommend being as good as possible with all strokes at the same level. For example, if you only practise Forehand and Backhand, you can bounce to level 2 or 3 quite quickly with just the favour shots. But if you want to play for points, this would limit your tactics considerably. If you stop at level 1 with the volley and overhead, you will then hope that your opponent doesn’t play a short ball and you won’t have to play one of these strokes.
