Overview
In this demo, we’ll guide you through creating a session plan using our site’s structure and features.
Build your session with a clear structure
A training session can include several activities but to simplify, In this example session we will include 3 drills: (1) On court Warm up (2) Heart of the lesson (3) End of the Session.
Step 1
Think about the topic for your session
The first step when making a plan is to determine your session´s topic or goal.
Consider this scenario as an example: you’re coaching a team and aiming to enhance your players’ doubles performance. So in this case the topic will be “doubles”
Step 2
Choose your player's level using TG 4-level system
As you know TennisGate uses a 4 level system to identify a players ability level. For this example, let’s assume your players are at Levels 3 and 4.
Step 3
Select a drill using a topic from the main menu
In this example we choose live ball drills. (Drills where players play with each other).
Step 4
Choose a warm-up related to your selected topic
Following the clear session structure, let’s begin with a mini-tennis warm-up by applying these filters:
- Playing Level: Level 3 and 4
- Topic: Mini Tennis Drills
- Situation: Doubles Situation
After applying these filters, the new results will be shown. Now, select your drill. For this example, we’ve chosen “Team Volleyball.”
Step 5
Save your drill in a collection
As you know, our collection tools allows you to organize your drills. Let’s use it!
Begin your doubles session with this first drill. To organize, click “Add to Collection” in the sidebar and give your collection a suitable name. Any additional drills you choose can then be added to this collection. (Watch the video for guidance)
Step 6
Choose another drill (heart of the lesson)
Following the clear session structure, let’s move on with the main goal (heart of the lesson). We chose a doubles drill by applying these filters:
- Playing Level: Level 3 and 4
- Topic: Doubles Drills
- Situation: Offensive
After applying these filters, the new results will be shown. Now, select your drill. For this example, we’ve chosen “Doubles-circle from the Baseline”.
Step 7
Save it to your collection
Remember to save it to your collection. Click on “Add to Collection,” select “Add to Existing,” and choose your previously created collection.
Step 8
Choose a drill for the end of the session
Following the clear session structure, let’s move on with a points play (end of the session). We chose a doubles drill by applying these filters:
- Playing Level: Level 3 and 4
- Topic: Doubles Drills
- Focus: Playing Points
After applying these filters, the new results will be shown. Now, select your drill. For this example, we’ve chosen “Doubles with High Five”.
😉 Remember to save it to your collection. Click on “Add to Collection,” select “Add to Existing,” and choose your previously created collection.
Depending on how long your session lasts, you can of course select further drills according to this scheme and add them to your collection.
