Rotary Stability Test: Assessing Torso Stability with FMS
The rotary stability test evaluates the coordination of neuromuscular activity and energy transfer throughout the torso for multi-planar trunk stability during a combined upper and lower extremity motion.
Mastering the task presents a challenge on one side, where many weaknesses become apparent. However, diagonally, it is considerably simpler.
The Rotary Stability Test is part of the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and assesses a participant’s stability. Olympic Coach Silvester Neidhardt administered the test during a Coaches Workshop.
