In this drill the player only practices wide kick serves from the ad side. The player tries to give the ball enough spin so that it passes through a target set up at an appropriate distance on the baseline or over a string stretched over the net. This controls the learning objective.

A total of 3 series with 20 serves each are to be performed. After each series there will be a short break. This way the players get a relatively high amount of training. Of course, this can also be done in groups of 2. Then, for example, a player can do some useful mobility exercises for his shoulder or elbow during the break.

Advice:

Practicing the serve in isolation to a specific target area from a fixed position (like here from the advantage side) serves as a base for further tactical training.
Although the focus is on the second serve, it can make sense to practice the combination (first and second).
